There wasn’t a better coach in the country that was available to bring Minnesota’s once proud program back to respectability. Monson was fresh off a trip to the Elite Eight with his Gonzaga team. The Zags were an impressive 28-7 that year and boasted a record of 52-17 with Monson at the helm. I mean for crying out loud, Monson is responsible for making Gonzaga a respectable and feared team to play come March. Click Here For More...
